And Netflix has released the official trailer for Wheelman, which will be available on Oct. 20:
Teaser for Wheelman
Netflix has released a short teaser for Wheelman. The film will be released on October 20.
Release date for Wheelman
Wheelman finally has a release date. Netflix has announced that the film will be available on October 17. Here is the first pic:
Frank Grillo (Kingdom, Captain America: Civil War) stars as the wheelman, a getaway driver thrust into a high stakes race-to-survive after a bank robbery goes terribly wrong. With a car full of money and his family on the line, the clock is ticking to figure out who double-crossed him and the only person he can trust… his fourteen-year-old daughter. All reasons to think fast and drive faster.
New projects: Monsters of God, Wheelman
Garret has been cast as the lead in Monsters of God, a new pilot for TNT produced by Plan B Entertainment. It is a post-Civil War drama written by Rod Lurie (The Contender, Resurrecting the Champ, Commander in Chief), who will also direct it. A few fun details from Deadline:
In Monsters of God, written and to be directed by Lurie, savagery and violence are the cornerstones of Colonel “Terrible” Bill Lancaster (Dillahunt)’s holy war against the Comanche in post-Civil War Texas. Despite the peaceful co-existence between the Comanche and local townspeople, Lancaster sets out on a quest to kill off every single member of the tribe, bringing chaos to the town of Slater.
Vicious, relentless, and a tower of a man, Colonel “Terrible” Bill Lancaster is the newly in-charge leader at Fort Thayer, a military base in Texas that exists to make peace with the nearby Comanche tribe. A fighter for the North in the Civil War, Lancaster’s morals stopped there; he now focuses on the total extermination of the Comanche, a goal in contrast to his orders. — Deadline
Monsters of God is also the silver lining to Hand of God not getting picked up for a third season. The second and last season of that show won’t be released until 2017.
In the meantime, here is a brief synopsis for Wheelman, the Netflix movie Garret is currently filming with Frank Grillo:
Grillo plays a getaway driver thrust into a high stakes race for survival after a bank robbery goes terribly wrong. With a car full of money and his family on the line, the clock is ticking to figure out who double-crossed him, and the only person he can trust is his 14-year-old daughter. — Variety
Here is a pic Grillo posted on Instagram last week:
Wheelman was written by Jeremy Rush, who is also directing.
Elsewhere, The New York Times is reporting November 11 as the release date for Come and Find Me, so we should probably start seeing and hearing more on that front soon.
COME AND FIND ME Aaron Paul (has it really been three years since “Breaking Bad” ended?) stars as a man whose wife disappears. It turns out she was living a double life, so finding her isn’t simple (or necessarily advisable). With Annabelle Wallis and Garret Dillahunt. Zack Whedon wrote and directed.
And The Mindy Project is coming back with its fifth season next week. The first of 16 episodes will be released on Hulu on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Here is a new trailer:
