Raising Hope 1×18, “Cheaters” – synopsis and photos

garret dillahunt, raising hope, cheaters, kate micucciRaising Hope is on a break (in repeat mode) for another couple of weeks, but Fox has released the photos from the next new episode, “Cheaters,” which airs on Tuesday, April 19. All the photos are here: Raising Hope 1×18. Jerry Van Dyke guest stars.

Here is the synopsis:

Maw Maw becomes smitten with a man she meets at Dead Tooth’s daycare. Meanwhile, Jimmy takes Sabrina to visit her college boyfriend, Wyatt, whom she suspects is cheating on her. Things go completely awry when Wyatt, desperate to win back Sabrina’s love, takes Sabrina and Jimmy on a very scary ride.

And another tidbit, from E!Online:

Kelly: I just want Sabrina and Jimmy to get together on Raising Hope. Is that too much to ask?
No, it’s not. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing it anytime soon. Especially when dear lovesick Jimmy (Lucas Neff) tags along with Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) to find out if Wyatt (Ryan Doom) is cheating on her. Also, the setting of said stakeout is a costume party, so lots of dignity is lost in just one scene. And somehow…Jimmy starts defending Wyatt? Crazy town!

Also, Deadline writes that Gregg Binkley (Barney, the store manager) will be a regular next season, and Greg Garcia has sent out another email to the press. Here is what he says (nabbed from The TV Addict):

Dear Press Member,

Hello, friends. It’s your pal, Greg Garcia. I’ve got a problem I was hoping you could help me out with: Not enough people are watching my show. Sure, we’re picked up for a second season and we’re doing a decent number in the demo most weeks. But we need more people to watch.

My problem is I don’t have the same kind of awesome luck other shows have. I don’t have a rock-star-tiger-blooded warlock going on every network providing non-stop promotion for my show. I’m stuck with a cast of amazingly talented actors who refuse to get into any trouble at all. I’ve begged them to throw a chair through a window at a morning show, steal a necklace, smoke a questionable substance in an online video or at the very least, rent a mansion and fill it full of adult-film stars. Alas, they refuse. My young star, Lucas Neff – who should be all over TMZ – spends his weekends at the library. THE LIBRARY!!! Seriously, the kid goes to the library. See what I’m up against here?

Anyway, that’s why I need you to help me out. If you think the show is good, keep telling people to watch. If you think these episodes we’re making available to you today are good, tell people to watch. If you see one of my cast members out in public, slip some drugs in their pocket and call the cops.

Thanks for your help,

Greg Garcia

jk simmons,raising hope,cultish personality,photosAnd for 1×16, “The Cultish Personality” (airs March 8):

Cousin Mike visits the Chance family after a six-month spiritual quest and brings his new wife, Tanya (Mary-Lynn Rajskub), and his three brother-husbands with him. Meanwhile, Burt tries to patch a strained father-son relationship between his brother (J.K. Simmons) and Mike, but winds up getting himself in trouble.

There are some new behind-the-scenes pics on the show’s official Facebook page.

And Raising Hope made it to #3 on Hollywood Reporter’s The Power Rankings! this week. Here is what they say about the show:

Rolling along in its stunningly funny freshman season, Raising Hope continues to really nail the combination of clueless ferocity and unexpected sweetness. The casting on this show is excellent, with Garret Dillahunt’s mastery of dopey, irritable and sensitive being one of the comic surprises of the season. Under appreciated as well.
