Raising Hope

Raising Hope previews & promo

raising hope photo, episode 1x15,garret dillahuntFox has released a bunch of photos from episode 1×15, “The Cultish Personality,” with J.K. Simmons and Mary Lynn Rajskub guest starring, but they also put out a press release for another episode 1×15, called “Snip Snip.” I’m not posting any new pages until it’s clear which episode airs first, but you can see all the new stills on Pizquita.

Entertainment Weekly talked to Greg Garcia the other week and got a few interesting bits about the season finale and the babies not getting fired after this season:

“In our season finale, there’s a lot of explanation about the relationship between Maw-Maw, Burt, and Virginia and their whole dynamic,” he says of the episode that flashes back to five years ago.

Looking back is easy. Looking forward, however, is a bit trickier given that Hope is helmed by babies who will age even when the cameras aren’t rolling between seasons. (Hope is played by two sets of twins.) Thankfully, Garcia has a simple plan for that, too (because this isn’t The Simpsons, people).

“Things can always change, but the plan now is to start season 2 jumping forward in time to the point where the baby is whatever the [babies’ ages are] when we start season 2. We might even do a first episode that tells the story of what happened up until the last time we saw them,” he says. “I’d like to incorporate some home videos of the baby in that time and get some good stuff of the baby growing up so our viewers can also watch the baby grow up in those six months [we’re off the air]. At that age, with babies that little, every month they change.”

And here are four previews from tonight’s episode, “A Germ of a Story:”

Raising Hope is back tonight – new interview

The New York Post has a hilarious new interview with Garret here. Snippets:

PW: OK, no singing tonight — what can we expect? I saw Burt in a tie? Don’t tell me he’s given in to “the man.”
Garret: No, it’s kind of like the Thanksgiving episode – Jimmy makes a new friend and we have to meet his family, which we don’t want to do because they’re rich. So we get all gussied up and that’s as fancy as Burt gets. It turns out better than we thought it would, but in general we just feel bad about ourselves.

PW: What else are you looking forward to fans seeing?
Garret: There’s an episode that I can’t wait to see [airing Feb 15] where, because of the baby, we all become very aware of the filth in the house. So we get a black light and the place is just aglow. It’s pretty scary. We go on this epic cleaning spree and Virginia finds some old movies that are very heartwarming. We watch them in the backyard and it’s one of those parties that even the best planner in the world couldn’t have choreographed it to be as moving as it is. You really sense that this is a family.

And just a reminder that the show is back tonight with a new episode, “Romeo & Romeo,” which airs at 9 pm on Fox. Here is the promo that aired during Super Bowl:

Synopsis & pics from Raising Hope 1×13, “A Germ of a Story”

raising hope, raising hope promo, garret dillahunt, baby, martha plimptonFox has released the promotional photos from Raising Hope 1×13, “A Germ of a Story,” which airs on February 15. You can find the pictures on the episode’s page: Raising Hope 1×13.

Here is the synopsis, from Fox’s February schedule:

When Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) points out to Jimmy just how many germs are lurking around his house, the Chance family becomes obsessed with cleanliness. Finding it impossible to keep Maw Maw (guest star Cloris Leachman) clean, they move her to the backyard greenhouse, but after watching some old family movies, they discover a surprising secret that has kept them healthy all these years.

And here is a tidbit from Kristin Dos Santos’ spoiler column at E! Online:

Raising Hope returns on Feb. 8, and Jimmy (Lucas Neff) sparks up a bromance with another single dad and puts the not-so-smooth moves on his new man friend. FYI, if you’re confused by Virginia’s (Martha Plimpton) newfound Spielberg tendencies in the Feb. 8 episode, wait until the Feb. 15 episode airs and then all will become clear. (The eps are seemingly being aired in a different order than the order in which they were written and filmed. Blah.)

And a new teaser for Fox Tuesday:
