More screening dates for Oliver Sherman

Oliver Sherman, poster,Garret DillahuntLooks like Oliver Sherman will be hitting the road again in the next couple of months. From Eye on Films:

Besides Hungary, we are pleased to announce that OLIVER SHERMAN will also participate in the US EoF festival:

Seattle International Film Festival (19 May – 12 June)

and will be released in France by Kanibal Films (Arnaud KERNEGUEZ) after an avant-premiere at Festival Paris Cinema (2-13 July 2011).

And it’s only the beginning!…

With more than 30 partners in 15 countries all around the world, the Eye on Films project is a guarantee of festival exposure and commercial exploitation, for OLIVER SHERMAN and other titles soon to be confirmed in the EoF selection.

Side Man available on Amazon

side man, latw, radio theatre, garret dillahuntRemember the staged recording of Side Man Garret did last spring for L.A. Theatre Works?

Well, it is available on Amazon. As it turns out, it’s been out since November, but for some reason I expected it to show up as a download on Audible, not an audio book on Amazon, so I didn’t discover it there sooner. Anyway, here is the link: Side Man (Library Edition Audio CDs) (L.A. Theatre Works Audio Theatre Collections).

And the description:

A Tony Award winner for Best Play, Side Man delves deep into the postwar New York jazz underground through the life of a celebrated musician and his dysfunctional family. Warren Leight used his own experiences as the son of a jazz musician to create Gene, a talented but emotionally incompetent trumpeter whose pure devotion to music comes at the expense of his relationship with resentful wife Terry and their self-sacrificing son, Clifford. A L.A. Theatre Works full cast performance starring Frank Wood as Gene, Garret Dillahunt as Clifford, Christine Lahti as Terry, Kyle Colerider-Krugh as Ziggy, Kevin Geer as Jonesy, Joseph Lyle Taylor as Al, Stephanie Zimbalist as Patsy, and live sound effects by Tony Palermo.

And yeah, if you’re still mourning Lights Out, it’s the same Warren Leight.

New screening for Oliver Sherman: Titanic Film Festival (Budapest)

Oliver Sherman will be shown at the Titanic Film Festival in Budapest this month (April 8 & 16). More details at TitanicFilmFest.hu.

The film also has a distribution deal in Hungary and France under the new Eye On Films initiative. Eye on Films is a “unique, global network of film professionals, which guarantees the circulation of a selection of first feature films in festivals partners in Europe and third countries, and the commercial exploitation of these films by distribution partners in Europe and third countries.”

Not sure if this means more festival screenings or theatrical release, or both, but for now there is a list of Eye on Films’ distribution and festival partners on the EoF site. They’re probably the ones who are the most likely to “circulate” and “commercially exploit” the film in Europe and elsewhere.

Raising Hope 1×18, “Cheaters” – synopsis and photos

garret dillahunt, raising hope, cheaters, kate micucciRaising Hope is on a break (in repeat mode) for another couple of weeks, but Fox has released the photos from the next new episode, “Cheaters,” which airs on Tuesday, April 19. All the photos are here: Raising Hope 1×18. Jerry Van Dyke guest stars.

Here is the synopsis:

Maw Maw becomes smitten with a man she meets at Dead Tooth’s daycare. Meanwhile, Jimmy takes Sabrina to visit her college boyfriend, Wyatt, whom she suspects is cheating on her. Things go completely awry when Wyatt, desperate to win back Sabrina’s love, takes Sabrina and Jimmy on a very scary ride.

And another tidbit, from E!Online:

Kelly: I just want Sabrina and Jimmy to get together on Raising Hope. Is that too much to ask?
No, it’s not. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing it anytime soon. Especially when dear lovesick Jimmy (Lucas Neff) tags along with Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) to find out if Wyatt (Ryan Doom) is cheating on her. Also, the setting of said stakeout is a costume party, so lots of dignity is lost in just one scene. And somehow…Jimmy starts defending Wyatt? Crazy town!

Also, Deadline writes that Gregg Binkley (Barney, the store manager) will be a regular next season, and Greg Garcia has sent out another email to the press. Here is what he says (nabbed from The TV Addict):

Dear Press Member,

Hello, friends. It’s your pal, Greg Garcia. I’ve got a problem I was hoping you could help me out with: Not enough people are watching my show. Sure, we’re picked up for a second season and we’re doing a decent number in the demo most weeks. But we need more people to watch.

My problem is I don’t have the same kind of awesome luck other shows have. I don’t have a rock-star-tiger-blooded warlock going on every network providing non-stop promotion for my show. I’m stuck with a cast of amazingly talented actors who refuse to get into any trouble at all. I’ve begged them to throw a chair through a window at a morning show, steal a necklace, smoke a questionable substance in an online video or at the very least, rent a mansion and fill it full of adult-film stars. Alas, they refuse. My young star, Lucas Neff – who should be all over TMZ – spends his weekends at the library. THE LIBRARY!!! Seriously, the kid goes to the library. See what I’m up against here?

Anyway, that’s why I need you to help me out. If you think the show is good, keep telling people to watch. If you think these episodes we’re making available to you today are good, tell people to watch. If you see one of my cast members out in public, slip some drugs in their pocket and call the cops.

Thanks for your help,

Greg Garcia
