Garret isn’t in the season opener, but if you’ve been waiting for new episodes of The Mindy Project, the first (of 26) is available on Hulu today.
Entertainment Weekly has a new interview with Garret with some details about his character in The Mindy Project:
The Hand of God star heads to Schulman & Associates as doctor Jody Kimball, Mindy’s (Mindy Kaling) temporary replacement.
“He’s a bit racist, a bit sexist, a bit old-fashioned,” Dillahunt told EW Thursday night at Amazon Studios’ Hollywood premiere of Hand of God. “So we butt heads coming on.”
Dillahunt started filming with the Mindy gang on Monday, and though he’s no stranger to streaming service series, the actor definitely felt he was flexing a different muscle when it came to straying from the Amazon drama. “I think it’s necessary,” Dillahunt said of trying out a different genre. “It should be a requirement. I thought that’s what we always do. I’ve been lucky enough to get the opportunity.”
Hulu has announced the release date for the new season of The Mindy Project. The season will premiere on Thursday, September 15. That’s 11 days after Hand of God (Sept. 4, Amazon).
One of the next stops anyway.
After two back-to-back drama turns post-Raising Hope, Garret Dillahunt is returning to comedy with a major recurring role on the upcoming fourth season of The Mindy Project at its new home, Hulu.
He will play Jody, a new doctor who replaces Mindy while she goes on maternity leave. Jody is a charming southern gentleman with extremely traditional values who thinks that Mindy is a tacky idiot.
The show was picked up for a 26-episode season in May and went back into production today. Hulu hasn’t announced a release date yet.
